Description
Notes Strawberry Jam, Mango, Butterscotch Origin Antigua, Guatemala Elevation 1700 MASL Varieties Caturra, Bourbon Process Washed This is our second year to work with coffee from La Colina and we are captivated again this season by it’s vibrant and sweet cup profile. We’re tasting flavors of red berries and tropical fruit with a creamy, brown sugar sweetness in the finish. La Colina (‘The Hill’) is a plot of land that Antonio Medina inherited from his father, who had named it due to it’s elevation amidst the volcanic geography of Antigua, Guatemala. At first, Tony planted basic grains, corn and beans, but having worked on coffee farms since a young age, it had long been his dream to have a coffee business of his own. The first coffee trees were planted at La Colina in 1991 and Tony has managed to steadily increase production and quality over the years, growing predominantly Caturra and Bourbon while introducing some rare varieties like Pacamara and Gesha.
