Description

A good amount of berry and a slight touch of funk - easy to dial around & nice in the cup. Will it spro? Yep, similar to all our other decafs.Roast Date: 3-24-26Roast Color: 128.6 (higher is lighter)As with other SWP coffees, the surface color appears darker than the roast level - this is actually the same profile as our Popayan EA with a slightly lower drop temp. I've been gradually working these SWP lighter every batch.Dega and Kuruma varietals grown by smallholder farmers around the Benti Nenka village. Natural process, dried on raised beds, Swiss Water decaffeination, 1900-2180 masl.Sold in 100g bags.Brewmaster J's Notes & TipsS&W Guji Hambela Benti SWP Natural Decaf I got a very standard natural Ethiopia cup with white sugar, dark berry, and black tea leading the way.  It has some funk but pretty normal/tame for this kind of bean.  Overall this is probably the lightest SWP yet and is pretty close to the Popayan EA decaf. I actually enjoyed this one more as pour over than on the orb.  Brews were very consistent between methods but V60 became the default.  It did run a little fast, but I also was running a shorter ratio which likely decreased that overall.  It’s a very nice Eth decaf that, while still having that SWP note present, still puts that sweet dark berry note up first.  Grind 4.7 ZP6Temp 93CBrewer V60-01Recipe 4 pour 15g/240g recipe 50/80/70/50 with a 30s bloom, lighter pours around 5g/sMore about the producer:From Swiss Water’s Small Batch Series! This coffee grows in Benti Nenka, a village in the Hambela area of Ethiopia's Guji Region. The high altitudes and favorable climate here contribute to the vibrancy and nuance that Guji coffees are known for. This coffee is the result of a collaboration between Swiss Water and Momos Coffee, based in South Korea. Momos carries the slogan "specialty for all," a commitment that has helped shape specialty coffee culture across the country. The team is home to 2019 World Barista Champion Jeon Jooyeon, one of the most accomplished baristas working today and a trailblazer for women in the industry. Under Jeon's guidance, Momos has earned recognition in Korean cafe and roasting circles for their work behind the bar and their depth in sourcing.Processing takes place at the Guduba mill, which Eyasu Worasa has operated for more than a decade. This lot is a natural process, with notes of berry and stone fruit, distinctly Ethiopian florality, and a tea-like finish.
