Description
This coffee comes to us from the Kisoro Estate in the western region of Uganda. Kisoro lies in the southern reaches of the Kigezi Highlands, a district of volcanic soils and sweeping hillsides that border the Virunga Mountains and Rwanda. Known for its cool climate, fertile terrain, and rich biodiversity, Kisoro embodies everything that makes southwestern Uganda so distinct. Founded in 2017 by Kenneth Barigye, Kisoro has grown to over 250 acres of farmland and as a result, Kenneth is now considered Uganda’s largest Arabica farmer. Kisoro Estate’s offerings represent the highest quality found in Uganda, recently featured in the winning routine of the Uganda Barista Championship at the hands of Ibrahim Kiganda, then subsequently being featured in two barista’s routines at the World Barista Championship. These accolades are a testament to the hard work and dedication to quality embodied by Kenneth and the team at Kisoro Estate. This coffee has a little something for everyone. A predominant note of blood orange is complimented by secondary notes of rooibos and cacao nib, offering a well-rounded experience with enough nuance to keep you coming back for another sip. Tart, sweet, nutty, and even a bit chocolatey, we think this coffee makes for an exceptional drinking experience.
