The family has owned the estate since 1918, and Wilford Lamastus is the producer for this Falda selection. Falda is listed at 1,800 masl. Elida’s coffee grows in volcanic soils with native shade trees and surrounding cloud forest. Cool nights and frequent mist contribute to a slow ripening cycle. Variety Gesha, also spelled Geisha, is an Arabica variety with Ethiopian origins. Panamanian Gesha is valued for its cup quality at high elevations and its potential for floral and stone-fruit aromatics. Growing conditions, processing, and roasting shape how those qualities appear in each lot. Processing Harvested on April 3, this Falda lot was washed, then dried slowly in a cold room for three weeks. Its delicate jasmine aromatics are accompanied by white nectarine and the floral sweetness of orange blossom honey.
