Description
Origin: Ethiopia Region: Bensa, Sidama Station: Alo coffee-Godicho Owner: Tamiru Tadesse & Messi Altitude: 2100-2200 masl Variety: 74112&74158 Crop: Picked in Jan.2026 / Arrived in Apr. 2026 Process: Natural Notes:Roselle,Muscat grape, Dried berries,Black tea About farm:Alo Coffee was founded by Mr.Tamiru and Mrs. Tamiru, a long-time veteran of the coffee industry, is deeply aware of the unfair pricing and undervaluation troubles coffee farmers endure. Ethiopia’s inaugural Cup of Excellence (CoE) competition in 2020 inspired them to start their venture. In 2021, their specialty coffee from their hometown village of Alo claimed the national championship at its very first competition entry, solidifying their vision to create world-class Sidamo specialty coffee. About process: Uniformly ripe coffee cherries arrive at the processing station and undergo meticulous sorting before being loaded into fermentation tanks for 72 hours of whole-fruit fermentation under controlled conditions (skin and mucilage kept fully intact). Once fermentation finishes, the cherries are pulped via water and thoroughly rinsed to eliminate all residual mucilage. The coffee is then transported to African raised drying beds for roughly 26 days of slow shade drying. Beans are turned periodically throughout drying to guarantee even moisture loss until moisture content falls within the 10–11% range.
