Tasting notes: Blackcurrants, blackberries & raisins Gachatha is a vibrant washed coffee from Nyeri, Kenya, produced by several hundred smallholder farmers at the Gachatha wet mill. Featuring SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian cultivars, it delivers intense fruity flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, and raisins. The cherries are hand-picked and carefully sorted before being depulped, fermented for 12–16 hours, washed, and slowly dried on raised beds for 10–14 days. With its clean, fruit-forward profile and distinctive Kenyan character, Gachatha is a bright and expressive coffee that highlights the quality of the region’s traditional SL cultivars.
