Description

Coffee Story Nestled in the picturesque region of Chikmagalur, Karnataka, and set against the scenic backdrop of the Baba Budangiri range, the historic Hilikere Estate is led by the coffee producer and visionary, Hulikere Shreedev. With elevations ranging from 1,100 to 1,370 meters above sea level, Hulikere Estate has an ideal terroir for growing and cultivating high-quality Indian specialty coffee.  The sprawling 100-hectare estate offers diverse coffee varieties, including selections 795, 9, 5B, Chandragiri, and Robusta CxR.  The estate's commitment to quality is evident in its focused processing method. Once handpicked at peak ripeness, cherries are processed the same day, involving float removal, de-pulping, natural fermentation, and meticulous drying on clay brick-lined yards. Each batch embodies Hulikere's dedication to excellence. Amidst the growth, Hulikere Estate faces its share of challenges, from unpredictable weather patterns to a scarcity of skilled labour. Yet, despite these trials, the estate remains steadfast in its mission not only to produce exceptional coffee but also to foster a harmonious coexistence with the surrounding ecosystem. With a vision for the future that includes sensitizing fellow planters about wildlife conservation and bridging the gap between farmers and consumers, Hulikere Estate stands as a beacon of sustainable coffee production, where each cup tells a story of passion, tradition, and stewardship.
