The family's coffee story began in the early 1900s, when Alexander Duncan MacIntyre established one of Panama's first coffee estates and built one of the country's earliest coffee mills. More than a century later, Kotowa has grown into a collection of five farms, each with its own altitude, microclimate, and coffee varieties. Today, Kotowa is internationally recognized for its innovation in processing and consistent success in the Best of Panama competition, winning championships in both Geisha and Traditional Variety categories.
