60% Costa Rica Matanilla Catuai, Caturra 40% Ethiopia Flavor Notes: "Milk Chocolate, Citrus, Brown Sugar" Size: 250g / 2lb Loquat's original theme colors were black and yellow. We wanted black to express LA, the great metropolis, and yellow to express its characteristically warm sunshine. For a while, we were completely immersed in the two colors — we received yellow shoes as a gift, chose black for the coffee bar's uniform, and found yellow and black everywhere in our daily lives. Then, on a business trip to New York, I noticed that the color of the taxis matched Loquat's. That's how the Taxi blend was born — with the hope that this coffee, like a taxi driven by a skilled driver, would carry you comfortably and smoothly to your destination for the day. Two coffees come together in Taxi. The Latin American component brings the smooth, chocolaty creaminess that forms the foundation of the cup (Black), while the Ethiopian coffee brings the rounded acidity of ripe yellow fruit and a honey-like sweetness (Yellow) — together, the two also create a jam-like texture. Taxi is the coffee we use for drip across our stores. It's delicious as is, and just as good with milk and sugar.
