Juan Pena - Hacienda La Papaya, Ecuador - Washed Sidra

This is a Sidra variety from Juan Peña’s main estate, La Papaya. Juan Peña has earned his reputation for extremely meticulous and consistent processing, quality control and excellence.  La Papaya sits in Loja, Ecuador. Ecuador has historically been a difficult place to both grow and export coffee out of due to difficult terrain and limited accessibility. But this hasn’t stopped Juan, who confounded Cafexporto to release his coffees and the coffees in surrounding farms to the world.  This Sidra lot features one of the cleanest presentations I’ve come across; with minimal fermentation and meticulous drying, it creates a clear sense of terroir and variety. Expect flavor notes of chamomile, with silver needle white tea supporting. There is a bright blackberry and dried papaya fruitiness with tons of brown sugared sweetness and a medium body.
