Process: Pulped Natural Varieties: Catuaí & Topázio Altitude: 1,150 metres above sea level Importer: Melbourne Coffee Merchants We have purchased coffee from Fazenda Progresso every year that we've been roasting. The Borré family moved to the Chapada Diamantina in 1984 and built their business on potatoes before the youngest son, Fabiano, planted coffee in 2005 and made it his own. The farm is now in its third generation of family hands, and the Borrés put a good deal back into the place around it: a school and medical centre in the village where most of their workers live, and a competition that rewards the smallholders in the surrounding towns.
