Most growers around him work their own plots independently, so joining the Alto Amazónico Association is something he counts among the farm's most significant milestones, a way of building quality and traceability alongside his neighbours rather than on his own. Coffee grows there beside yuca, plantains and corn, hand-picked and washed with the kind of attention that is only possible on a farm this small. He's committed to producing lots distinct enough to be traced back to him by name, and a real connection between the person drinking the coffee and the place it came from.
