Even Coffee - Carmelita Aduviri

Tasting notes: Hazelnut, Pear, Raisin Carmelita Aduviri comes from Copacabana, Bolivia, where producer Carmela Aduviri has spent more than 50 years cultivating coffee. Her three-hectare farm sits between 1,400 and 1,550 metres above sea level and is spread across five levels of steep mountainous terrain. This washed Caturra lot is a reflection of her long experience growing coffee in the region, with careful harvesting and processing bringing out a sweet and balanced cup. After harvest, the cherries are delivered to Agricafé’s Buena Vista wet mill, where they are inspected before being slowly dried in a cocoa dryer to 11.5% moisture. The coffee is manually turned every two hours during drying, then rested in La Paz before being hulled and carefully sorted at Agricafé’s La Luna dry mill. In the cup, Carmelita Aduviri combines hazelnut and raisin sweetness with the delicate fruit character of pear, finishing with a silky texture. It works especially well as a modern espresso while remaining approachable and enjoyable as a filter coffee.
