Alejo is the fifth generation of the Castro-Kahle family, whose ancestors have grown coffee on the slopes of Poás Volcano in central Costa Rica for more than a century. Up to today, the family’s descendants keep pursuing stricter quality standards. They protect natural resources by purchasing and expanding native rainforest land to raise awareness of ecological conservation. The farm also carries out a variety of initiatives to mitigate air pollution and global warming.
