Producer Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera La Prosperidad de Chirinos, a blend of lots from its smallholder members Farm/Mill La Prosperidad de Chirinos Location San Ignacio, Cajamarca, Peru Altitude 1,300 - 2,000 masl Process Washed Cultivar Mixed. Typica, Bourbon, Caturra, Pache Harvest Summer 2026 Expect notes of Dark Chocolate, Caramel, Walnut. The Donna Espresso is our nod to a more traditional coffee flavour. We look for coffees with the inherent characteristics of deep chocolate, low acidity and plenty of body, then roast a little darker than the rest of our range, until the natural sugars brown to a dark caramel quality. This release comes entirely from La Prosperidad de Chirinos, a cooperative of more than 800 smallholders farming the hills around San Ignacio in northern Peru. Donna tastes robust and strong, but still allows the unique characteristics of our seasonal coffees to shine through. Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera La Prosperidad de Chirinos was founded in 1968 and today brings together more than 800 smallholder farmers across the high country of San Ignacio, in Peru's northern Cajamarca region. Most work plots of only a few hectares, growing Typica, Bourbon, Caturra and Pache between roughly 1,300 and 2,000 metres. The cooperative holds Fairtrade, organic, Rainforest Alliance and Smithsonian Bird Friendly certification, and invests in agronomic training, micro-financing and leadership programmes for women and young farmers. It is the same partner behind the Peruvian half of our George Street Blend, and a relationship we keep coming back to.
