He was among the first producers to build a micro mill in the country, and the first Costa Rican producer Starbucks purchased specialty coffee from. Producers across Costa Rica regard him as something of a godfather to the industry. Herbazú's Villa Sarchí (Bourbon family varietal) is one of our favorites among the essential-tier coffees, and consistently our most-purchased single lot. Notes of apple, pomelo, and cashew give it a comforting quality, with a distinctive, elegant tactility and finish.
