From Where: Patio Bonito is a family-run coffee farm located near Pescador in Caldono, northern Cauca, Colombia. This generational farming family is lead by its female producer Paola Trujillo. The 11-hectare property includes nine hectares of coffee production and approximately 45,000 trees, with cultivars such as Castillo, Colombia, Pink Bourbon, Gesha, Ají Bourbon, Sidra Bourbon, SL28, Wush Wush, Typica Lychee, and Laurina.   Mission: The farm is led by agroforestry engineer Carlos Arturo Trujillo and his family. Carlos has spent more than 40 years developing a sustainable coffee-farming model, supported by decades of research experience and a commitment to sharing knowledge with farmers and university students. His wife, Angela, manages traceability, bookkeeping, and production records, while their daughters, Paola and Patricia, oversee and refine the farm’s coffee-processing methods.   More than a place of production, Patio Bonito is a long-term family project centered on nature, education, and careful coffee cultivation. Its approach brings together biodiversity, detailed traceability, cultivar exploration, and a belief that the farm’s most important legacy is knowledge and a healthy environment for future generations.   Tastes like: First sip gives you tamarind candy, then Cherry, finishing with honey.
