The Huila region is always a favorite when it comes to Colombian coffee. Due to its proximity to the equator and its rich with volcanic soil, coffee from Huila has a signature profile: fruit and caramel notes, sweet acidity, and intense aromas.. This traceable community blend with a vibrant regional profile comes from 64 producers with small farms in the municipality of Pitalito within the department of Huila which lends this coffee to a rich complexity of flavors. All the coffees in this blend are sourced from small, family-owned farms in Pitalito. Acidity: Medium Aroma: Sweet and fruity Body: Heavy Milling Process: Washed Tasting Notes: Dark chocolate, Caramel, Cherry, Vanilla, Roasted almond The growing altitude for the Colombia Huila is 1500 -1,950 meters above sea level. The varietals are Castillo and Caturra.  It has two harvest periods: October - February and May - August.
